Sergeants James Koyanagi and Peter Fuentes are in charge of Special Events. This includes the Indio International Tamale Festival, National Night Out,  parades, street fairs, block parties, and small concerts to name a few.

The Command Team assists in mitigating public safety concerns and developing event plans by coordinating with local promoters, event organizers, and City of Indio Community Services Manager Jim Curtis to provide police and traffic control services for these special events.
