CITY OF INDIO NAMED TO FODOR’S TRAVEL 2026
“GO LIST” OF TOP U.S. DESTINATIONS
Recognition marks a major milestone for Downtown Revitalization
INDIO, CA (November 21, 2025) - The City of Indio is proud to announce that it has been selected by Fodor’s Travel as one of just six destinations on the 2026 “Go List” of the top places to visit in the United States. This honor reflects the recognition of the widely respected editors at Fodor’s Travel, who highlighted Indio’s ongoing transformation and rising profile for both residents and visitors.
For the past several years, Indio has invested in revitalizing and enhancing the downtown core into a sought-after destination. From public art and greater retail, dining and entertainment offerings, to streetscape improvements and a more pedestrian-friendly design, the transformation is now fully visible and inviting. The recognition from Fodor’s underscores Indio’s commitment to creating a destination that works for its residents and welcomes guests from around the world.
When the Fodor’s team visited, they explored several local favorites that bring Indio’s downtown to life, including Gabino’s Creperie, a beloved spot known for its inventive savory crepes, and Italica, which offers an Italian-inspired menu, served tapas style behind a shiny silver door in the heart of downtown. These stops highlight the broader wave of independent business growth that has helped redefine Indio’s identity as a center of food, culture, and community energy.
“Being named to Fodor’s Travel’s 2026 Go List is a tremendous honor for Indio and a validation of our city’s vision and hard work,” said Mayor Glenn Miller. “Our downtown revitalization was not a quick fix, it was years of dedicated collaboration, investment and belief in ourselves and community. We look forward to welcoming travelers who want to experience the heart of Indio and our thriving local businesses.”
With Fodor’s spotlight now shining on Indio, the city is building on this momentum by continuously welcoming new businesses into Indio and its Downtown core, adding even more public art in the coming year, and expanding the lineup of new and fun community events for everyone to enjoy.
