Animal Care Center
The Animal Care Center was established in 2003 to provide humane services to the citizens of Indio. The center is supervised by Jose Mercure and is staffed with 3 Animal Control Officers, 4 Animal Care technicians, and an office assistant. The center is also fortunate to be assisted by over 30 citizen volunteers. The Animal Care Center is a full service shelter with an active adoption program for dogs, cats, and other household pets. The center also responds to problems with wild animals such as coyotes and reptiles.

Heading east on the Interstate 10 exit on Golf Center Pkwy. and turn right (south). Proceed down to Avenue 45 and turn left. We are located ¼ mile up on the right side. Avenue 45 turns into Van Buren Street.
Going east on Hwy 111 cross over Jackson and continue to the first traffic light. That will be Golf Center Pkwy. Turn left (north) and go over bridge. Make a right at the first stop sign which is Avenue 45. We are located ¼ mile up on the right side. Avenue 45 turns into Van Buren Street.

Donations
The Animal Care Center accepts donations of all types. We are always in need of blankets, towels and old linens. Please make sure they items are cleaned when dropped off at the Animal Care Center. We also accept dog and cat food as well as treats. If you have old dog toys we welcome those as well.
Become a Volunteer
The Animal Care Center of Indio has a volunteer program that offers people the opportunity to work with a variety of animals. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age. This program is for those individuals that want to make a difference in the lives of animals. Fostering Program
Our fostering program provides individuals the opportunity to sponsor various animals without actually adopting them. These individuals will provide special care for the animals for a specified amount of time. This may involve caring for puppies or kittens until they are weaned.
